The Journey

Song of the Road At Seventy

He Considers the After-Life

If I return as a ghost
Do not be frightened
My intent only

To find your goodness
And comfort my mind
We were together once

I will stay a time
Both of us knowing
It must cease

Then be carried on
Seeking to cherish
What was real

The rooster across the road
Will cry at the sun
Separating the worlds
